State Rep. Cam Cavitt on Thursday joined the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity (LEO) in announcing $244,928 in grants being awarded to 11 Northeast Michigan businesses. The funding is part of the Going PRO Talent fund which provides resources to encourage workforce training and development for new and existing employees.
“It’s great to see Northeast Michigan businesses and employees receive a significant investment from the state,” said Cavitt, R-Cheboygan. “These dollars will go help pay for key training and development opportunities to equip Northeast Michigan workers with the tools they need to remain competitive and prepared in a rapidly changing workforce environment.”
Grants were awarded to businesses in Alpena, Cheboygan, Hillman, Lewiston, Ossineke, and Rogers City.
