SK Siltron CSS opens facility in Monitor Township
State Rep. Timmy Beson today celebrated the opening of a new semiconductor manufacturing facility in Bay County.
Beson, R-Bangor Township, helped cut the ribbon at the new Monitor Township plant opened by SK Siltron CSS, which produces semiconductor wafers. The project — a $300 million investment — is expected to create as many as 150 local jobs.
“With this new plant, SK Siltron will hire workers and build the local economy in Bay County,” Beson said. “Modern technology needs high-quality semiconductors. Semiconductors are put to work by Michigan’s own auto industry, which employs people right here in Bay County. More local semiconductor production will keep our community moving forward.”
Beson welcomed Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and other government and business leaders to Bay County for the event.
SK Siltron also operates a nearby facility in Auburn.

Senate Bills 613-616 install some disclosure requirements for Michigan’s state-level elected officials. But the requirements are thin – barely meeting the minimum standard for disclosures […]
State Rep. Timmy Beson is supporting a newly introduced House Resolution that works to make sure a critical government program is working as intended – instead of needlessly being exposed to fraud. House Resolution 127 urges Congress to pass legislation and work with the United States Department of Agriculture to develop rules and implement more […]
State Rep. Timmy Beson is pushing back against a green energy plan in the Legislature that will raise costs for families and strip away local input on future projects in local communities. House Bills 4759-61 currently in the Legislature would require a 100% renewable and mostly carbon-free standard in Michigan by 2035 – closing several […]
State Rep. Timmy Beson today said advancing budget measures spend irresponsibly and miss the mark from where funding is needed most. Beson, who serves on the House Appropriations Committee, criticized a lack of funding for bridge infrastructure – saying it’s only a fraction of what should be allocated on the heels of the state […]
